Review 1: BBICN ThreeA Popbot: 1/6 Pathfinder Oya TK Ono 12-inch figure

This is my FIRST ThreeA (3A) Tomorrow King Oyabun 1/6 scale 12-inch figure and it is also a BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive: Pathfinder Oya TK Ono. According to threeAwiki: Tomorrow Kings are male clones, from the Popbot Universe who were created by Luthor Bean Jr. originally used for corporate takeovers. These "Elvis ronin" were created to slay all monsters & ghouls with Luthor Bean Sr.'s Ion Engine that escaped Earth. They are also used to fight the Mortis.

Tomorrow Kings Oyabuns are a more agile and skilled type of Tomorrow Kings. In the Popbot books, they have only been mentioned once, but the figures have seen great demand. They are most distinct because they sport a large puffed coat and two katanas.

The world of Popbot and all its characters including Tomorrow Kings were created by award winning illustrator Ashley Wood. In 2008, Ashley Wood and ThreeZero's founder Kim created threeA, a Hong Kong based production house for designing, developing and manufacturing toys, posters, prints and clothing based on characters created by Ashley Wood.

The box that the BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive: Pathfinder Oya TK Ono comes in is simple enough - just a shoe-box type packaging. Remove the lid and the 3A 12-inch figure is inside, all assembled and ready for play.

This is the BBICN ThreeA Popbot exclusive: 1/6 scale Pathfinder Oya TK Ono 12-inch figure straight out of the box. Or simply put, this is Pathfinder Ono, which is part of the Tomorrow Kings (TK) Oyabuns (Oya) line of figures.

Everything in Popbot seems to happen in a post-apocalyptic world. Post-apocalyptic stories often take place in an agrarian, non-technological future world, or a world where only scattered elements of technology remain. There is a considerable degree of blurring between this form of science fiction and that which deals with false utopias or dystopic societies.

Being a post-apocalyptic world, it seems water has become a scarce resource so bathing or showering is a definite no-no. Planet Earth is so badly treated that there is hardly any rain as the remaining residents survive on scraps. Hence the heavily weathered look of all the clothes, giving the impression of a dirty, decaying and dying world.

The camouflaged jacket with hood seems to be of a particular military type. Based on first impression, it does resemble the Australian Army's camouflage pattern, the DPCU (Disruptive Pattern Combat Uniform) or Auscam.

The Oyabuns also come with a Lasstranaut t-shirt and BBICN ThreeA Popbot Exclusive Pathfinder Ono is no different. Without his camouflaged jacket, you can see what he's wearing besides the T-shirt i.e. three-quarter (3/4) pants, sneakers and molded gloves

From the side profile, the Tomorrow Kings (TK) Oyabuns (Oya) figure seems to have a hair style that is inspired by a certain boy robot i.e. Astro Boy aka Tetsuwan Atomu.

BBICN ThreeA Popbot Exclusive Pathfinder Ono proudly wears the logo of the company that made him on his back: threeA, a collaboration of threeZeros (denoted by the mask logo) and Ashley Wood ('A')

Check out the hairstyle once again. Pretty unique and astro-boyish ;p The other nice thing to note are the gloves which are unique with 3A's Tomorrow King 12-inch figures. Nice shoes too

Close-up shots of the BBICN ThreeA Popbot: Pathfinder Oya TK Ono 1/6 scale head sculpt. I think he looks very Asian. Ashley Wood's Popbot Tomorrow Kings seem to be inspired by anime / manga as they look more animated than realistic. The dirt is meant to be there as it is part of the charm and used to represent the post-apocalyptic world in which the Oyabuns live and thrive in.

Scroll down for more views of this 3A Tomorrow Kings Oyabun Pathfinder Ono (BBICN exclusive) 1/6 scale head sculpt. Notice how his left ear is exposed...

...while the right ear is covered by his "hair". Because of the astro hairstyle, the right ear is incomplete and only has the lower half with the upper half of the ear missing

Without his jacket, Pathfinder Ono wears the Lasstranaut t-shirt and you can see the elbow joints on his arms

Here's a closer look at the 1/6 scale camouflage jacket (with hood) worn by BBICN ThreeA Popbot Pathfinder Oya TK Ono. It has a zipper in front and has netting on the inside.

Disruptive Pattern Combat Uniform (DPCU or Auscam) is based on the U.S. duck hunter patterns of World War II. Its camouflage was designed with arid and desert-like landscapes in mind. It is also known as 'Hearts and Bunnies'. Colloquial names for DPCU include "Jelly Bean" cammo, "Rabbit Ears" cammo, "cammo jym jammies" and "cams".

Tomorrow Kings (TK) Oyabun (Oya) Pathfinder Ono's hooded jacket has a pouch at the back (for the Camelbak hydration pak?) and another removable pouch that can be attached on the right upper sleeve

And these are the pouches that come with this BBICN ThreeA 1/6 scale Pathfinder Ono 12-inch figure, plus the two swords with sheaths (double katanas). It does seem that the pouches vary according to the type of 3A Tomorrow Kings figure you get. The head sculpts are all the same because they are clones.
